MIAMI'S HOTTEST NEW ITALIAN TABLE IS HERESan Marco has landed, and it's already the talk of the town. The masterminds behind Cotoletta and Si Papa, two spots that became instant Miami staples, just opened a polished, upscale Italian concept built around old-school tableside theater. We went in for a tasting and walked out raving about three dishes in particular: a showstopping butter tower wheeled tableside (as indulgent as it sounds), gnocchi so pillowy it practically melted, and a dessert finale of tableside crepes that had the whole table going quiet mid-bite. San Marco isn't just another Italian opening, it's the kind of meal you start planning your next visit around before you've even finished the first. ABBY PATIENCE LAUNCHES HER DEBUT BOOKGuests buzzed with pride as young author Abigail Rose Patience celebrated the launch of her debut book, You're in Control of Your Anxiety. Surrounded by friends and family at Riviera Country Club, Abby signed copies and shared a lovely breakfast with guests who came out to cheer her on. Written from her own experience with anxiety, her book gives young readers an honest, calming guide through something many of them feel but struggle to name. And she's already talking about what comes next. MIAMI'S FIRST BLACK MILLIONAREBorn a sharecropper's son in Georgia in 1872, Dana Albert Dorsey came to Miami in 1897 with a fourth-grade education and a carpenter's trade. He worked the railroad, noticed Black workers needed housing, and started buying land. By constantly reinvesting rental income into more property, he became Miami's first Black millionaire. He donated land for a school and a library, both of which still bear his name today. Dorsey Boulevard runs through the heart of Overtown, and his restored home still stands there as a quiet monument to what's possible when a city underestimates you. Dear Hive, Some traditions just stick. Watching fireworks light up the Miami sky is one of ours. Whether you're catching a drone show or the classic boom-and-sparkle kind, and whether you're on a rooftop with champagne and fancy cheese or at a park with hotdogs and a face-painted kid on your hip, there's something about the 4th that brings everyone together. Few things beat watching the sky light up with the people you love. Hope you're soaking up every bit of it this week. ~Samantha and Team...
Dear Hive, Can you believe July is next week? Whether you're traveling this summer or working straight through it, consider this your friendly reminder not to let the season slip by without taking a little time for yourself. A summer reset doesn't have to mean a weeklong vacation or an elaborate getaway. Sometimes it's as simple as leaving work an hour early, taking a half day on a Friday, saying "no" to a few obligations, or giving yourself permission to slow down. One of the things we love...
