Miami's Got Style. What Are You Wearing?

Dear Hive,

Miami Fashion Week is here, and we're taking a fashionable stroll down memory lane. From the city's runway history to the latest happenings on Miracle Mile, there's plenty of style to celebrate this week. Speaking of style, Wild About Miami: Wild About Water is just one week away! Our annual luncheon takes place next Thursday at Coral Reef Yacht Club, and we have one very important question: What are you wearing? The dress code is ocean chic, so consider this your invitation to make a splash.

CHARMING DESIGN, SERIOUS CREDENTIALS, BOUTIQUE STUDIO

After a decade leading luxury residential and hospitality design at a top Miami firm — rising to VP and Director — Diana Liebowitz struck out on her own. Her boutique studio blends architecture and interior design to create private estates and multifamily spaces with the same polish once reserved for five-star hotels. Charming and approachable, Diana offers clients something rarer: a guided, white-glove experience from concept to completion. She also lends her senior-level eye to developers and architecture teams as a fractional design resource. Buzzworthy indeed. Discover her work.

ONE WEEK UNTIL WE GO WILD

We can hardly sit still. Wild About Miami: Wild About Water is next Thursday, October 22, at Coral Reef Yacht Club on Biscayne Bay. We kick off at 11:30am with a luncheon celebrating the water that makes Miami, Miami, alongside our charitable partner, The CLEO Institute. And we have news! Please welcome our newest sponsor, Revive Surgical Institute and MedSpa. We’re so grateful to have them in the Hive. We can’t wait to share this day with you. Pull out your best ocean-inspired look, and we’ll see you on the bay. Event details HERE.

MIAMI'S FASHIONABLE PAST

Before Miami Fashion Week had international designers and glamorous runway shows, it had a woman with a vision. Former model Beth Sobol launched Fashion Week of the Americas in 1999, giving Latin American and Caribbean designers a platform in the U.S. The event grew into an international fashion fixture and was relaunched in 2016 with a focus on resort collections. This year marks a decade since that reinvention, with runway shows, industry conversations, and a new shopping experience on Miracle Mile. Nearly three decades after its beginnings, Miami is still making its own fashion rules.

OUR NEXT PICK IS A KILLER

Calling all armchair detectives: our next Book Bees pick is Murder at the Grand Alpine Hotel by Lucy Foley, the bestselling author of The Guest List. It's the first new Miss Marple novel in 50 years, and it's a good one. High in the Swiss Alps, a glamorous hotel fills with guests who all have something to hide: an actress, a politician, a society wife, a doctor. Then someone turns up dead, and only one unassuming woman is paying close enough attention. Read fast and trust no one. Get your TICKET, if you dare.

FASHION TAKES MIRACLE MILE

The runway isn't the only place to spot great style this week. Miami Fashion Week is bringing more than 20 international designers to 350 Miracle Mile for a special shopping pop-up, October 16–18. Expect fashion, accessories, and plenty of inspiration, all in the heart of Coral Gables.

ALL ABOARD FOR LA SPONDA

Miami is surrounded by water, yet it’s surprisingly hard to find a dinner table that actually looks out on it, but La Sponda delivers. The new coastal Italian spot on Grove Isle comes from Gioia Hospitality, the team behind Daniel’s, so expect their signature meats, plus house-made pasta, crudo, and plenty of seafood. The curved dining room sits right over Biscayne Bay, so it feels like dinner aboard a luxury cruise ship, minus the shuffleboard. Service is polished and plentiful, and the wine list is excellent. Pro tip: come early and catch the sunset.

Dear Hive, Seven years ago today, the very first 305 Hive newsletter landed in your inboxes. The short version of how that happened: I'd been reading and loving Just Ask Boo for fourteen years when a friend mentioned Boo was selling it. I called her. Two hours later I'd decided to buy it. Less than six months after our first issue, the world shut down, and for two years this newsletter was mostly just a way to keep a little light on, share something to look forward to, and shine a spotlight...
